CPS Announces Dave Corsi of Wegmans as New Board Chair

Woodland, CA, July 25, 2018

The Center for Produce Safety Board of Directors elected officers on June 21 directly following the CPS Research Symposium held in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dave Corsi, of Wegmans Food Markets, was voted in as the new board chair and is ready to bring his extensive experience in the produce industry to his new role.

Dave Corsi has been a fixture at Wegmans Food Markets for over 32 years, becoming the Vice President for Produce and Floral Operations in 1999. As VP of Produce and Floral, he is responsible for procurement, merchandising, design, fixturing, pricing and the Wegmans Organic Farm Operation.

"I am truly honored to be an integral part of the Center for Produce Safety, an organization whose sole mission is to improve food safety in the global produce industry. Because of CPS's leadership and dedication supporting the health and well-being of consumers, research and implementation of best practices in the area of food safety will continue," said Corsi.

Dave Corsi's predecessor, Tim York, of Markon Cooperative, was the board chair for the past two years. York stated, "CPS is fortunate to have a dedicated group of volunteers who bring their time, expertise, passion and perspectives. We have been well served by outgoing board members and thank them for their service. Chairman Corsi has assembled a great team for this next year. It has been an honor and a privilege to lead the board of directors since 2016 and I look forward to continuing participation."
